The never-ending debate is re-surfacing again for the summer…. what on earth do vegetarians & vegans want to eat at BBQs?  Fake sausages just dry out and turn to cardboard, and I’m getting a bit bored of halloumi.

So, here’s an idea which is deceptively easy and a sure-fire crowd pleaser at any BBQ… garlicky, olive-y flatbreads cooked quickly over the coals, topped with marinated artichokes and cherry tomatoes.  Totally delicious, and great served with hummus, baba ganoush or other middle-eastern style bits and pieces.

Recipe: Seedy Spelt Flatbreads with Roasted Garlic Hummus

My little boy absolutely loves meals which involve dipping, tearing, dunking, sharing and picking bits and pieces that he fancies from a selection of yummy things…. a “choosing lunch”.  And do you know what – so do I.  I think we all do – perhaps it’s some sort of primeval enjoyment for eating with our hands rather than cutlery – tearing apart warm, freshly-cooked flatbreads, scooping up a big dollop of hummus, and dotting a sun-blushed tomato or maybe a few olives on top.  I don’t think there can be many better starters or lunch platters to share with friends or family.  Continue reading “Recipe: Seedy Spelt Flatbreads with Roasted Garlic Hummus”

Recipe: Cheat’s Feta Flatbreads

Here’s a ‘don’t-have-time-to-make-a-starter’ recipe, with just three ingredients you can pick up at the supermarket.

Recipes for the BBQ: Marmite & Mozzarella Flatbreads and Reggae Reggae Potato Skewers

You will either love or hate these little Marmite & Mozzarella Flatbreads, but if you’re a marmite lover do give them a try – they are totally more-ish and you won’t be able to stop at one!  They absolutely must be eaten straight away whilst the cheese is still oozing.
